From the beginning of this year, GN has completely upgraded its shaker screen product from the old steel frame to the new composite frame. The new composite frame screen has many great features, for example, the screens are four side pre-tensioned which will make the different layers of meshes combined tightly and well. This will make the screen lasting longer. Above API 60, GN ‘s screens will be 3 layers of mesh, while other screen manufacturers will do 3 layers only when the API is over 120. As the surface of the screen is composite material, it has better performance in terms of anti-corrosion. The screens can be stocked over 5 years on average. The new composite screens have larger opening area which will make the processing capacity much better than before. The screen wire mesh supplier is the same as DERRICK, MI SWACO and BRANDT. Now GN can manufacture almost all the replacement screens for the world  famous brands, such as the SWACO, DERRICK, BRANDT, FSI, ELGIN, and so on. GN can also customized the screens as the customer’s special needs.

Recently GN just got a new order of mud recycling system for 1000HP drilling rig from a customer in Romania. This is a full set of mud recycling system and now the production for the system is almost done, will ship to Europe very soon.

This system consists of the main components: 5 40 feet container sized mud tank, 3 shale shakers, 1 mud cleaner, 1 vacuum degasser, 2 centrifugal pumps, 2 mixing pumps, 20 agitators. The mud recycling system meets the Europe CE standard and ATEX explosion proof standard. Mud recycling system is very important during the drilling process, it will help maintain the property of the drilling mud at very good level, removing the unnecessary large sized solids and protecting the drilling equipment from being damaged by large solids.

We can make a comparison, the mud pump is like the heart of the whole rig, the drilling mud is like the blood of the rig. And the mud recycling system is the key component that will make the heart and blood running healthy and strong. The solid separated by the hydrocyclone will drop onto the upper deck of the shale shaker, then the solids will be dried further for disposal. The clean mud after the separation by the hydrocyclone will flew back the tank and be pumped back to the wellbore for reuse and recycling. The basic configuration of the mud recycling system is one double deck shale shaker, two hydrocyclones for desanding, one centrifugal pump, one mud tank and some other parts.

As the oil and gas exploration and production technology is improving day by day, the traditional mud recycling system is gradually replaced by automatic, systematic and close-looped mud recycling system. Cutting dryers is more and more used together with the solid control system in the drilling rigs to meet the critical environmental requirement. The cutting dryer can meet the environmental requirement and recover and recycle more material for reuse.

Among all of GN’s products, one of them is the star product, that is cutting dryer. No matter in the flow line for solid control or for waste management, it has shown great performance. There are two types of cutting dryer, fixed speed and VFD. GN can manufacture them according to different customer’s requirements and save money for customers. The screen bowl’s maximum diameter is 930mm. And there are three different kind of screens for your choice, 250 micron, 350 micron and 500 micron. The handling capacity is 30 to 50 tons per hour. Tungsten carbide protect the flights on the rotor from abrasive solids and ensure longer operation life. The special design of high pressure air knife can clean the basket screen automatically and easily, and avoid the screen to be blinded by the viscosity mud and water based mud. The flushing system with specially designed nozzles around the body of cutting dryer can avoid the liquid discharge channel being blocked by sediments. The lubrication system is electrically interlocked with the main motor starter to prevent machine operation in the event of low or no oil pressure to the gearbox. The VFD control panel can facilitate soft starting, fingertip control of the VFD system can change the motor speed and thus the G force can be changed to the working conditions. The VFD system is made by ABB or SIEMENS and it is explosive proof.
