Russian Company Purchased 3 Sets Solids Control Systems for ZJ40 from GN

Recently, a well known Russian company has purchased 3
sets of complete solids control systems for ZJ40 drilling rigs from GN Solids
Control.  As the second crude oil
exporting country and fifth consumption country in the world, Russian drilling
rigs are always very active. Although there are some economic or political
whatsoever, Russia’s market for crude oil is never quiet. So is the drilling
service and drilling waste management service.

What does 1 set of ZJ40 Solids Control
System have?

1.      
Shale shakers. For each set of
complete ZJ40 solids control system, there are 3 shale shakers, and in this
system they chose GNZS594E-HB shale shaker, 4 pcs screens for 1 shaker, with a
longer treating route and better separation result.

2.      
Mud Cleaner. 1 set of mud
cleaner GNZJ594E-2S12N, best seller mud cleaner of GN, shares same screens like
the shale shakers, a combination of desander, desilter and shale shaker,
compact design, multifunctional.

3.      
Decanter Centrifuge.
1 set of
decanter centrifuge GNLW363CG, which is most popular decanter centrifuge of GN.

4.      
Other equipments like mud
agitator, mud guns, and pumps. All produced by GN Solids Control.

This is not the first time GN Solids
Control export equipment and systems to Russian market. Last year, GN delivered
4 sets of complete waste management systems to Russia, now they are working at
Nabors’ jobsites.

Besides oil and gas solids control systems
and waste management systems, GN has also provided the HDD and piling mud
recycling units to Russia and other Russian spoken countries. They are enjoying
good names and feedbacks.

Last year, in order to better support for
the Russian customers and to provide a quick service, GN Solids Control started
its Russian branch in Moscow. It’s the second branch GN has established, with
the first one located in Houston, USA.

Self Contained Mud Recycling System for CPP

As the leader of Solids Control and waste management system
and equipment manufacturer in China, GN Solids Control has designed many mud
recycling systems for world leading HDD companies or HDD contractors, who are
more well-known than GN Solids Control itself. CPP ( China Petroleum Pipeline
Bureau ) is one of GN’s old customers, many of GN’s equipments are going to
many countries of the world.

At the beginning of this year, although the oil market is
down because of the crude oil price, CPP ordered 8 complete high standard self
contained mud recycling systems from GN. Below is the picture of such systems,
now 2 sets of them are finished and already dispatched from factory. In fact,
these mud recycling systems are higher than GN’s standard highest
configuration. They are of 500GPM, per China specifications, 120 cubic meters
per hour, which is the most common model.

This design is combined of 2 tanks, and several
compartments. On skid of first tank, there are 2 main equipments, GNZY705E-Y10N
and GNZY705E-Y2S, they are kind of mud cleaners with double deck shale shaker. The
lower deck of shaker is like a shale shaker for the first stage treatment
before the desander cones. While the desander cones and the upper deck shaker
is the second stage treatment, same as the GNZY705E-Y10N, the desilter cones
also have a drying shaker.

The second tank is for further treatment, and there are 2
sets of decanter centrifuges on the second tank’s skid. GNLW452-VFD big bowl
centrifuge and the VFD control panels, the largest particle size in the
drilling mud from the first tank is no larger than 10 microns. After the
treatment of the 2 VFD centrifuges, the solid particles in the drilling mud is
no larger than 2 microns. Just because the 2 decanter centrifuges, this mud
recycling system is of higher configuration than normal.

Dewatering Unit and its Centrifuge Decanter

As the demands for environment protecting
is much higher than before in everywhere of the world, only a solids control
system used for the drilling rig is not enough for treating the drilling
cuttings. In case of water based mud drilling cuttings further treatment, there
is a zero-discharge system including a so called drilling waste management
system and a dewatering unit.

In a waste management system, there is an
auger to collect drilling cuttings from the solids control system, for
collecting and transporting the cuttings discharged from the solids control
system. And another auger with is slope, for feeding the cuttings into the
waste management system, always a high-G shale shaker or a vertical cuttings
dryer. Then the treated liquid from the first treating equipment will be
further treated by a decanter centrifuge, the waste management centrifuge.

After a long while, some solids phase
particles are smaller and smaller than before, too small to be separated out by
a 2-5 microns’ centrifuge. Then comes the dewatering unit, constructed with a
flocculation unit including PAM dissolving system, dosing and electric control
for PAC, dosing pumps, some agitators, tanks and a container for installing all
of above. After the flocculation step, the fine particles become larger ones,
at least large enough for being separate out by centrifuge.

GN is cooperating with many mud companies
and mud service companies, who don’t only use the waste management systems, but
also the dewatering units for their services. Some of them are making their own
dewatering units and buying centrifuges from GN for their package. Sure in the
future GN will provide more and more centrifuge in different fields for
different applications.
