Mud tank System for oil drilling to India Company

This week one complete set of mud tank system are ready for delivery to India oil drilling company. This is a customized mud tank system and a repeat order from the drilling company. The detailed technical configuration is as below:


1) Total active tank volume 80m3, water tank volume 40m3, trip tank volume 8m3, pill tank volume 8m3


2) The solids control equipments installed on the mud tank system including 1 unit of mud gas separator, 2 units of double deck shale shaker ( the treating capacity is up to 600gpm), 1 unit of desander, 1 unit of mud cleaner, 1 unit of vacuum degasser, 1 unit of high speed decanter centrifuge, 2 units of desander desilter feeding pump, 1 unit of mixing pump with mixing hopper, 1 unit of trip pump for trip tank, 1 unit of water pump, 1 unit of pill tank transfer pump, 1 unit of decanter centrifuge feeding pump, 4 units of mud agitator, 8 units of mud gun and other mud tank accessories, such as radar liquid level meter, audible visual alarm, IEC explosion proof control system, walkway, guardrail, stairs, pipelines, etc.


3) Shaker screen and complete set of spare parts, the shaker screen used for shale shaker and mud cleaner is OEM produced by GN solids control comply with API RP13C standard, the composite material shaker screen frame with 3 layers of stainless steel wire mesh and 4 sides pre-tensioned to ensure longer working life of the screens, and save time for screen replacement.

Vacuum Degasser and Solids Vacuum Pump for international drilling company

Recently one batch of vacuum degasser, decanter centrifuge, solids vacuum pump and shale shaker are ready for shipment for international drilling company.


The vacuum degasser model is GNZCQ270B horizontal type vacuum degasser, which is self suction type without needing a jetting pump. It has been widely used to separate gas from gas cut mud, so that it can protect the solids control equipments used in the next step, such as centrifugal pump ( desander desilter feeding pump). The vacuum degasser will be normally installed on the mud tank which is after primary shale shaker and before desander desilter or mud cleaner.
The features of GNZCQ series vacuum degasser are as below:
(1) water ring type vacuum pump provide safe and reliable operation.
(2) Suction capability of the vacuum pump plays 2 roles, 1 is to let the mud entering in, 1 is to let the gas out of the vacuum tank, it means, the working of the vacuum degasser do not need an extra jetting pump.
(3) When there is no gas cut mud, since the suction pipe is installed inserted into the mud tank and under the liquid, it can be used as high power mixer of the drilling mud.
(4) Belt pulley instead of gearbox for easier maintenance.
(5) Proper design of gas water separator, since the gas and water will not be discharged simultaneously, the exhaust pipe will be always unconstructed, the water can be circulated as water supply to the vacuum pump for less water consumption.


The solids vacuum pump can be used as spilled mud collection on the rig floor, or transfer pump of the drilling fluids, drilling cuttings and other high solids content materials from one place to another place. The rig air supply can be used as the vacuum pump air supply, it is a 100% air operated transfer pump without electricity.

GN Solids Control Equipment on 2023 CIPPE Beijing Oil Show

This week GN Solids Control participate in 2023 CIPPE Beijing oil show with our lastest technology and equipments. We met with our domestic clients also international clients who is interested in GN technology and equipments. After the exhibition, some of the clients visit our facility to check our workshop and equipments.


What equipments we had showed at CIPPE 2023?
ViST vacuum shaker, GN updated version vacuum shaker with electric drived air compressor to supply air to the vacuum unit, a catch pan is installed under the last panel screen which is connected with air compressor. The features of GN vacuum shaker is pulse type negative pressure to provide better vacuum and avoid blocking the shaker screen.
Big Bowl decanter centrifuge can be used for high volume slurry cleaning, mud dewatering with chemical dosing unit, oil sludge separation system, low gravity solids separation from the drilling fluids and drilling waste treatment.


3 phase disc separator, it is used to separate oil water and solids from the oil sludge, to get the clean oil and water. It is normally used after 2 phase decanter centrifuge, to reduce the solids content and separate the big solids which is bigger than 0.5mm. GN designed oil sludge treatment system with proper arrangement of 3 phase disc separator with its flushing tank, operation water tank, solids discharge unit and feeding pump.


The 3 phase decanter centrifuge is a horizontal type 3 phase centrifuge to separate oil, water and solids. If the requirement of recovery oil and water is not in high level, we can use 3 phase decanter centrifuge instead of 2 phase decanter centrifuge and 3 phase disc separator.

Mud Recycling Unit for Trenchless Drilling Customer

Recently 2 sets of mud cleaning unit are ready for shipment to trenchless drilling client. One set is GNMS-1000D mud cleaning unit used for pipe jacking company in Singapore, the other set is GNMS-500D mud cleaning unit used for HDD trenchless project in Africa.


GNMS-500D technical specification is as below:
Treating capacity is 120m3/h (528gpm), the separation cut point is 40 microns, the total power is 32.1KW, compact design for convenient transportation, inland shipping dimension is 3135x1920x2431mm, total weight is 3377kg.The main equipment including mud cleaner GNZY753E-Y1S, with vibration strength ≤7.1G(Adjustable), bottom screen area is 1.35m2, upper screen area is 0.875m2, with one piece of 10 inch desander cone, the desander feeding pump is GNSB5X4C-13J.


GNMS-1000D technical specification is as below:
Treating capacity is 240m3/h (1056gpm), the separation cut point is 40 microns, the total power is 49KW, compact design for convenient transportation, inland shipping dimension is 3720x2170x2528mm, total weight is 3733kg.The main equipment including mud cleaner GNZY705E-Y2S, with vibration strength ≤7.3G(Adjustable), bottom screen area is 2.6m2, upper screen area is 1.35m2, with two piece of 10 inch desander cone, the desander feeding pump GNSB6X5C-13J feed the slurry discharged from double deck shale shaker to desander cone.
The mud cleaning unit is used for drilling fluids recycling for construction slurry separation of pipe jacking machine and HDD rig trenchless project. If the client need to prepare for new drilling fluids, they can produce a mud storage tank with mud agitator and a jet mud mixer which combine with mixing hopper and mixing pump.

Mud Cleaning Package Equipment for New Zealand Client

Recently one unit of mud cleaning package equipment is ready for shipment to New Zealand. The system consists of coarse shaker separation unit, fine mesh shale shaker unit, desilter unit and decanter centrifuge unit with chemical dosing unit. It can be widely used for hydrovac waste cleaning treatment, construction slurry dewatering system.


The coarse shaker separation unit with coarse shaker tank, the slurry from vacuum truck are loading to catch hopper which with spray nozzles and big hole mesh then drop into the coarse shaker to separate the coarse solids, stone, mess. Agitators are installed on top of catch tank to avoid solids sedimentation. The submersible slurry pump transfer the treated slurry and feed to fine mesh shale shaker.


The fine mesh shale shaker separate the fine solids from the slurry and drop into shaker tank with mud agitator, the vertical pump feed the slurry to desilter cone, which can separate the solids bigger than 20 microns. The fluids is feed to decanter centrifuge which is installed on the telescopic skid, there is a fluids catching tank installed on the skid and under centrifuge to catch the treated fluids. A chemical dosing unit prepared for chemicals and feed to decanter centrifuge feed tube.


The hydrovac waste cleaning system has been widely used in North America and Australia, New Zealand. We can design customized slurry cleaning system according to client’s requirement. The decanter centrifuge used for construction slurry dewatering system is normally big bowl big volume decanter centrifuge, 30 inch bowl diameter, 131 inch bowl length, the max speed is 2650rpm with max G force 3000G, the typical speed is 2200rpm with typical G force 2412G. The max mechanical capacity is 285m3/h, typical capacity is 225m3/h, the dewatering capacity is 50m3/h, main motor is 160KW, back motor is 90KW, with VFD control panel.
