Drilling Mud Recycling System

Recently one set of drilling mud treatment equipments are sent to overseas engineering service company, including GNMS-500D Desander Unit and GNLW224ET-VFD Decanter Centrifuge Unit.
The technical configuration is as below:

1. One unit of GNMS-500D Desander Unit, which can be widely used as mud cleaning unit for HDD, Bored piling, TBM slurry treatment. The designed treating capacity is 500gpm, the features of this desander unit is as below:
   1) Compact design, small footprint
   2) Competitive price for economic solution of mud cleaning
   3) Only for mud cleaning, without mud mixing and mud storage, the user can connect it with further jet mud mixer unit with their own storage tank
   4) Easy operation and maintenance, including 1 unit of double deck shale shaker with one unit of desander cone, the bottom layer shaker screen as coarse solids separation shaker, the top layer screen as fine solids separation screen, to dry the discharged solids separated from desander cone. One unit of centrifugal pump as feeding pump, one catch tank to collect the fluids discharged from coarse solids separation shaker screens temporarily, one control panel to control all the motors in the unit. After treatment by GNMS-500D desander unit, the separation cut point is 45 microns. If the user want to separate more fine solids, they can use a desilter or use a decanter centrifuge.
2. GNLW224ET-VFD Decanter Centrifuge Unit, including a decanter centrifuge with a fluids catching tank. The features of this unit is as below.
   1) Compact design
   2) Separation cut point 2~5 microns
   3) T series decanter centrifuge is special designed dewatering centrifuge to separate ultra fine solids from fluids, after treatment, the water can be reused to prepare for new drilling mud or send to waste water treatment for final disposal. With chemical dosing unit, the working efficiency can be highly increased.

Recently one set of 3 phase decanter centrifuge are shipped to Africa for oil tank bottom sludge cleaning project. The tricanter is widely used for oil, water, solids separation industry. The conditions to use the 3 phase decanter centrifuge is as below:

1. The oil content in the material sludge should be over 10%, and solids phase less than 10%, the solids particle size should be less than 2mm.
2. The solids phase should be specifically heaviest phase and the two liquid phase must have different densities. For example, oil and water, but solids must be the heaviest. GN produced 2 phase decanter centrifuge is to separate the solids with liquid, the 3 phase decanter centrifuge is to separate the solids- liquid – liquid.
   The working principal of the 3 phase decanter centrifuge is sedimentation, when the sludge is feeding into the 3 phase decanter centrifuge feed tube, the sludge rotates with the bowl, due to the different specific gravity of the 3 phase, their centrifugal force is different. The heaviest phase solids with the greatest centrifugal force, the water’s centrifugal force in the middle, and lightest phase oil with smallest centrifugal force. So that it formed as 3 different layers inside the centrifuge bowl. The solids are pushed out by the rotated screw conveyor, the light liquids( oil) is discharged from the big end bottom fluids out, and the heavy liquids is discharged from the big end top fluids outlet port, they can be collected separately. The water can be sent to waste water treatment facility or to be reused for circulation of the oil sludge treatment process. The solids can be incinerated or be landfilled or sent to Thermal desorption unit. The oil is recovered for sell or to be reused.
   We have 3 standard model 3 phase decanter centrifuge for option, GNSX-350, GNSX-450, GNSX-520.

Recently one batch of screw conveyor and screw pumps are shipped to African drilling waste management company. The equipments list are as below:

1. 10 sets of Variable Speed Screw Conveyor: GNSC12B-12V, the speed adjustment method is manual adjustment. The screw diameter is 12 inch, the screw length is 12ft, the capacity is 20 ton/ hour, the motor power is 5.5KW, the screw speed is 50~60 rpm.
2. 3 sets of manual adjusted speed screw conveyor GNSC12B-24V, the screw diameter is 12 inch, and the screw length is 24 ft. the screw conveyor can be used to transfer drilling waste (for both water based drilling waste and oil based drilling cuttings), it can be installed horizontally (to collect drilling waste from solids control shale shaker, desander, desilter), and also it can be installed slantly to transfer the drilling waste to vertical cuttings dryer system. The quick open cover system make it convenient for observation and maintenance. The design of sealing rubber with the cover plate to avoid the leakage during working. We can provide pull wire switch for safety purpose as per client’s requirement. The hanger bearing is from reliable brand FAG or SKF for reliable operation. The flights inside the screw is made of wear resistant material, it can also be sprayed with wear resistant coating as per client’s requirement.
4. 8 sets of Variable Speed Screw Pump: GNG30B-075V, the screw pump can be used as decanter centrifuge feeding pump. The manual speed adjust screw pump can control the feeding rate of the fluids to the decanter centrifuge, so that the decanter centrifuge won’t be blocking due to overloading.
5. 2 sets of manual adjust speed screw pump GNG10B-040V, this model screw pump can be used as flushing pump of vertical cuttings dryer.
6. 10 sets of Control panel

Recently one batch of VFD decanter centrifuge and vertical cuttings dryer are shipped to Nigeria for drilling waste management. The details are as below:

1. 3 units of GNLW363C-VFD decanter centrifuge, this is the best seller for drilling waste management system, the designed capacity is 40m3/h, normal working capacity is about 30m3/h.
3. 2 sets of GNCD930F vertical cuttings dryer, which is the ideal equipment to treat oil based drilling cuttings, the max speed is 900rpm, max G force is reach to 420G. from the original version GNCD930A cuttings dryer to the lastest version cuttings dryer GNCD930F, we keep improving our design of vertical cuttings dryer as per customer’s feedback, to make it more user friendly, better performance and more convenient operation.
4. Telescopic skid for the decanter centrifuge and vertical cuttings dryer
5. Feeding pump ( Netzsch brand screw pump) for decanter centrifuge, flushing pump ( screw pump) for vertical cuttings dryer.
   The customer is familiar with the operation and maintenance of the equipments, they can make the other accessories locally, for example, pipelines for connection, collection hopper to collect the drilling waste from excavator, they can also purchase the screw conveyor from GN solids control based on their requirement. The screw conveyor is to transfer the drilling waste to vertical cuttings dryer feeding port, and also it can be used to collect the drilling waste from solids control equipments, such as shale shaker, without skip, like a zero discharge system.
   GN standard drilling waste management system is a skid mounted unit, the vertical cuttings dryer, decanter centrifuge, VFD control panel, centrifuge feeding pump, telescopic skid, pipelines and accessories, lightings , fluids collection tank are all installed on one skid for convenient transportation. Recently 2 units of vacuum loading solids transfer pump are shipped to Europe client. One model is GNSP-40B, another model is GNSP-20B, the working principal of them are same, just a little different in outlook.

GNSP-40B vacuum pump is the biggest model right now, the designed capacity is 40 m3/h, which can allow max solids size is 75mm, the required pressure is 550 Kpa ~ 785Kpa ( 80 ~114 PSI),min air demand is 17m3/min ( 600CFM), the max solids content allowed is 80% , max discharge distance is 1000m in horizontal, max suction distance is 50m in horizontal, for vertical suction and discharge height, it will depends on the material conditions, we will negotiate this with the customer. The pump is in a frame for convenient lifting and transportation.
GNSP-20B vacuum pump is a mobile design vacuum pump, with 3 wheels for movement in short distance, the compact footprint compared with GNSP-40B. the designed treating capacity is 20 m3/h, which can allow max solids size is 50mm, the required pressure is 550 Kpa ~ 690Kpa ( 80 ~100 PSI),min air demand is 8 m3/min ( 280CFM), the max solids content allowed is 80% , max discharge distance is 1000m in horizontal, max suction distance is 50m in horizontal, for vertical suction and discharge height, it will depends on the material conditions, we will negotiate this with the customer.

GN vacuum pump can be applied for many different industries for material transfer, such as drilling mud transfer, animal waste, oil sludge, tank bottom sludge, waste mud and waste solids transfer, silo transfer, sand transfer, vessel bottom clean out, and other kinds of slurry transfer.
Based on different project requirement, the user can select different model vacuum pump for their project. When compact footprint is required due to space limit, we will select small vacuum pump.
